Overview
Nestled in the heart of Westminster, The Hypnos Hotel redefines luxury within a beautifully restored Victorian building in Lancaster Gate. Designed by Anaqa Interiors, the project embraces the essence of Heritage Haven — a seamless fusion of historic elegance and contemporary serenity. The design pays homage to the grand English Baroque and French-inspired architecture of the 19th century while integrating modern comfort, sustainability, and Biophilic design.

Design Approach
The goal was to preserve and modernize the property’s heritage by creating a tranquil retreat that connects guests to London’s cultural richness. The Hypnos embodies a holistic approach to well-being — blending natural materials, soft lighting, and sustainable finishes. Classical Victorian elements such as gilded ceilings, ornate plasterwork, and carved cornices meet contemporary details, curated art, and Biophilic features that introduce light, greenery, and balance.

Spatial Experience
The design features open, flowing spaces enhanced by arches, travertine cladding, and natural stone flooring. The lobby celebrates grandeur with marble reception desks, custom chandeliers, and a central water fountain reminiscent of Kensington Palace. Each Executive Suite offers a serene escape — oak wood flooring, traditional paneling, embroidered fabrics, and organic forms create a calming ambiance infused with natural light and warmth.

Sustainability & Innovation
Sustainability lies at the heart of The Hypnos experience. The hotel integrates energy-efficient systems, eco-friendly materials, water-saving fixtures, and renewable energy sources. Locally sourced antique furnishings, handcrafted décor, and organic wall coverings uphold a commitment to regeneration and environmental responsibility.
